Mock Tests & More

As well as our usual tutoring, we annually offer extras during the Summer and at the beginning of the Autumn term to support our pupils further and to reduce the anxiety surrounding exams and interviews. Mock tests are very good to highlight last minute gaps before the exams as we give detailed feedback. Please note, the majority of these provisions are only available for Elevate Eleven pupils, but you are welcome to sign up for our mock tests if spaces are available, even if your child doesn’t attend tutoring with us.

Mock Tests – open to all

Each year, we run Mock Tests to help prepare children for the experience of taking an exam so they don’t find it too daunting when they experience ‘the real thing’. We use exam papers that are unable to be purchased online so they won’t have seen them before and we give you detailed question by question feedback which is particularly useful to highlight gaps. We do NOT send the papers home.

Mock Tests tend to run in September and October of each year in time for the state grammar school and independent school exams.

Advanced Maths Workshop

We have rewritten our maths workshop to make it fun and engaging, with competitions, quizzes and even an escape room! 

This is aimed at the children who are targeting the state grammar schools (e.g. Tiffin/Sutton) and more academic independent schools and will be at the CGP Stretch Book level, led by a maths specialist. Please note: children who are not on the stretch book will find this work too hard. The cost is £75 for 3 hours. 

Interview Practice

Interview Practice takes place with a member of staff at a local independent school who specialises in interview preparation. This is charged at £35 which includes a 10 minute interview and 10 minute feedback with a parent, giving targets for improvement, then a further 5 minutes to repeat some of the answers based on the feedback. You will be sent a preparation sheet in advance of the interview and your child is advised to research details about their first choice school.

Timed Paper Practice

In order to get back into the swing of things at the end of the summer holiday period, we run timed paper practice sessions at the Refresh Centre 129, Walton Road East Molesey (KT8 0DT). There is a teaching element in these sessions as well, together with some fun games. This is charged at £75 for 3 hours (from 10am – 1pm)
