Full Timed Papers \u2013 entrance exam standard begins here (non-exam pupils continue with coursework)<\/td>Course becomes bespoke for pupils depending on whether they are doing general tutoring, going for independent or grammar schools.

\nTimed Papers will be chosen dependent on school choices, and for those doing competitive selective schools (e.g. Tiffin), we introduce them to Year 7 level maths whilst continuing to review previously learned topics. <\/td>		Tutors use the pupil\u2019s weekly timed papers to highlight gaps in knowledge and communicate this with parents regularly

Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n

All children will learn verbal and non-verbal reasoning during the first half term of our course, as even the state grammar schools frequently choose to use an element of reasoning within their English and maths papers (despite what they may say!). This keeps options open and allows parents to change their minds about school choices later down the line.<\/p>\n

Non-verbal reasoning involves the ability to understand and analyse visual information and solve complex problems without relying upon or being limited by language abilities.\u00a0This is very useful to teach exam technique. Verbal reasoning assists with vocabulary development and, again, encourages logical and structured, analytical thinking. The reasoning is frequently used in secondary school IQ tests and is becoming more commonly used in 11+ entrance examinations as more and more schools are choosing to use the online CAT4 Test and ISEB tests as a form of assessment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
